Although I interviewed with the marketing/social media manager, she departed prior to my arrival. However, I'd gleaned enough from our meeting to tackle the role myself, once I got up to speed. So, in addition to UI/UX Designer responsibilities, I received the green light to cover the position due to my overlapping skillset, overall experience and desire to take it on. I welcomed the opportunity to establish greater brand consistency and tighter synergy between social content, web and email while wielding the reins for all.
With the dual objectives of growing the community and facilitating both online and in-store sales, I conceived and executed a series of new initiatives including UBTV - United Beauty Television, the Picture Yourself with United Beauty Supply campaign, a brand ambassador program, location video production and more.
Focusing on Instagram and Tiktok/TikTok Shop, maintaining YouTube and Facebook and shelving Twitter and Pinterest (based on user engagement and marketing strategy) set the stage for significant growth within one year:
